To unlock new skills in the Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order you will need to earn skill points and use them to unlock the skills one by one. New skills generally cost one skill point but can cost more as you get further in the game. Your skills are displayed on a skill tree and you have to unlock them in the order on each branch.
All mod and map files that you download will end with the .pk3 extension. All you do is place these pk3 files into your base folder: \Jedi Academy\GameData\base\exampleMod.pk3. If you downloaded a client-side mod, you'll have to make a new folder for it inside GameData if it doesn't exist already, and place the pk3 files in there.
